Michael Gaißmair weapon rules
Every member is strongly encouraged to purchase a suitable
weapon and necessary ammunition/magazine pouches. We recommend de-activated
guns
but as Finnish law still allows ownership and possession of live firearms,
members are allowed to carry those as well - but without ammunition due
to security reasons. If carrying live firearm the firearm permit and other
relevant documents must be carried as well and gun handled according to law.
Rifles
Basic weapon for SS-Gebirgsjäger is Mauser 98k
bolt-action rifle or Gew 33/40 mountain
rifle.
Gewehr 43 semi-automatic rifle is also allowed
for later war scenarios.
Machine pistols
NCOs and officers can use MP38 or MP40 machine pistol, Suomi M31 machine pistols are also allowed for limited use.
Pistols
9 mm pistols such as Parabellum
P08 and Walther P38 pistols are allowed
for officers, MG gunners and scouts on longer patrols (Kaukopartio
in Finnish)
7,65 mm pistols, such as Walther PPK, are allowed for officers and
enlisted men or nco's on special duties, such as medic or Kriegsberichter.
Machine guns
Squad will also have one MG34 or MG42 machine gun. Gun is carried and maintained by MG Gruppe, including MG-Schütze 1 and 2 as well as MG-Gruppenführer.
Others
Sturmgewehr 44 is allowed on late-war Western front scenarios, as are all Panzerfausts.
All other weapons, such as captured ones, are allowed only
if approved by unit commander and/or authenticity officer.
