Re-enactment unit history
Our unit is the first Finnish WW2 re-enacting
unit portraying a certain, well-known unit.
Our unit, "Michael Gaißmair", was founded in early 2006 by Finnish
re-enacting enthusiasts seeking
to do something that had not been done in Finland before.
"Michael Gaißmair"
was selected because the unit operated in Finland and thus we would automatically
be in right scenery.
Russian steppes or French bocage can not be found here, thus "LSSAH"
and "Wiking" were out of question, not to
mention that we already have quite many re-enacting units portraying those divisions.
Membership info
Our unit is quite small and we intend
to keep it such - quality over quantity. Membership is at the moment on invitation
basis only.
You will not find membership application forms from this www-site. If you
are interested becoming a member, do get in touch with us,
and we will see what can be done.
New members who join the unit after December
1st 2006 are not allowed to use Edelweiss insignia and/or Michael
Gaißmair cuff-title until they have
participated in three (3) weekend training/battle/patrol sessions.
Unit languages are both Finnish and English.
